Haces algunos anyos pasados...pero ns estuvimos disfrutando las vacaciones contigo. Y especialmente el recomendación Basto's Grill y su arrachera.... que comida sabrosa!! Cuidase mucho!!

Isla mujeres es un lugar hermoso, su playa es excelente, los camastros están entre 10 - 20 dólares, los souvenir son algo caros, pero es un lugar precioso.

Un lugar maravilloso, acogedor y con una vista privilegiada.

Isla Mujeres: What I Love most about Isla Mujeres, it's a Pick your own adventure destination. How ever you like to vacation, they have it, all on a safe small island. Plus the people who live and work there are really Nice people and very friendly. ||Villa Makax: Perectly Paradise! We are a couple in our 50's. We like a home away from type vacation,  private, quiet and prefer to be self reliant. We stayed in Casita Grande for a week June 25-July 2. The property is Breathtaking, clean and accessible. No parking issue for the golf cart, no stairs, hallways, extra doors or people. Drive right up and walk right in, and enjoy this beautiful property! The Casita had everything you need. We went to the grocery and bought a few fresh items and drinks. We bought pizza from Oscars one night and reheated in the toaster oven providing lunch for days, lol. We took the recommendations from the information book provided and really enjoyed our dinners at Rosa Sirenas and DeNuccio's the most. We are pretty active so we exercised early in the morning walking down the road, challenging and hot. Since we wanted to avoid crowds and busy beaches, we enjoyed Punta Norte, Punta Sur, the Malecon first thing in the mornings. What a beautiful experience!! Highly recommend this schedule. When the ferries start coming in, everything is super busy and Hot! The afternoons were spent at Villa Makax, in the pool and at the beach, lunch, nap and repeat. |Owners Steve and Lindell are lovely and gracious. We had great conversations when we did run into them which was not often. Caretaker Juan is attentive and helpful when needed. He put us in touch with Juanito, his son and Juanito delievered our golf cart to the villa. The golf cart broke down the night before we left and he had a replacement delivered within the hour.|The Casitas are positioned so you have a lot of privacy when other people are on site. We spent all but the last night as the only guests on property so it really felt like home.||Tips: |Read forums etc to find exactly what you are looking for and get helpful tips.|Leave all cotton clothes at home. It is very hot and humid, pack All dri fit stuff and bathing suits. Little else is needed. |Pack 2 Turkish beach towels and take them everywhere. Most restaurants, bars have wooden seats. The vinyl seat on the golf cart is super hot and when bugs get bugging, a great cover up.|Bug spray|Sunblock|Big rim hat, both men and women. You will need them!|Leave snorkel gear at home, we didnt use it enough to justify the luggage space. Good news there are endless adventures to enjoy! |

The location is second to none, situated on the calm waters of the ocean facing west to Cancun, compared to the windy east coast of the island. The villa is on a long dead end street that parallels the coast, so little traffic goes by. With only 4 units, it is very quiet, as most guests are older. The room was nice and comfortable, but very spare with common amenities-- no coffee or filters, no shampoo, a modicum of kitchen needs. When I offered a few suggestions for improving the hospitality and comfort, I was treated like a guy with cooties! I suggested providing a small information booklet or sheet with pertinent information-- taxi numbers, bus information (yes, there is bus service in front of the villa that will take you anywhere on the island, but we had to find that out ourselves-- I speak Spanish, so it was fairly easy), a few suggested restaurants, nearby grocery, etc. The owner was deliberate in avoiding contact with me while we were there. So, it seems the management is somewhat "hands off" and not interested in helpful feedback. We and our neighbors felt the place is a bit pricey for what you get. But we had a positive experience during our week there.
